The
2015 Autosport International car show was held between the 8th and
the 11th of January and I learned about the show around noon on the
11th. So I quickly gathered what I could manage in a prepper during
an apocalypse type of way and was out of the door in a matter of
minutes. After a surprisingly cheap bus ride I was at the Birmingham
International Airport. From the airport it's a very long walk to the
NEC. It was all indoors and must have been at least two miles from
the departures lounge at the airport to the ticket kiosk at the NEC.
This is definitely the biggest auto show I have ever been to. And
the amount of cars was stunning. And I use the term cars very loosely
as there were race cars, stock cars, dirt track cars, drift cars,
drag cars, highway pulls cars, old cars, new cars, beautiful cars and
revolutionary ones as well, racing trucks, and even racing tractors.
The one thing more stunning than the number of cars was the number of
people there. It was very crowded. So crowded that I was unable to
get a clear shot of the cars without standing 20 centimetres away
from it.
What
I give you below is just a small part of the vehicles that were

Supercars
I finally got to see the LaFerrari and my gosh is it gorgeous. This car looks more like a sculpture than a means of transport.
The Huracan was also a car I had never seen. Set to replace the Gallardo it definitely has the Lambo aggression we all know and love.
The old girl still has it. The Gallardo Superleggera looks like a stealth bomber.
This is the Ferrari 458 Speciale. Don't know much about it except it has even more aerodynamic elements and a rather good looking racing stripe.
And I almost forgot. The Ferrari 458 Speciale has fake exhaust pipes.

After a long and wet winter, the sunny days of spring seem to have finally arrived and what better what to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon than meeting with your friends that share the same passion as you, catch up on what you've done to the car during the winter and talk about what awaits in the summer months. That was probably the idea behind the pre-season get together that the XR Owners Club organized last Sunday in front of the Coventry Transport Museum. "What is the XR Owners Club?" I hear you ask. Well it is a car club established over 30 years ago with a sole aim to bring together all of the enthusiasts that have a special place in their hearts for the legendary XR range of cars that Ford produced. The club offers unique members only services like a quarterly magazine and unrivaled technical advice. There were over 25 cars from all model years spanning from a Mk1 Fiesta XR2i to a comparatively new Mk5 Escort XR3i and a Andy Rouse Merkur XR4Ti Replica.
This Mk1 Fiesta Supersports/XR2i was for me the best example of how a beautifully restored and carefully looked after Fiesta should look like. It had all the right parts and I was particularly impressed by the attention to detail in the engine bay. But this is something you could say about all the cars that were there. Some of the engines were cleaner than a hospital operating table. And probably cleaned more frequently.
My favorite XR3i Escort from the day was this Red turbocharged cabriolet. The chrome in the engine compartment was so bright it was confusing my camera so I had to manually compensate for the shininess of this turbo engine.
I have a soft spot for fast Ford Sierras because they embody all I want in a performance saloon: a powerful engine, four-wheel drive for traction and plenty of space for scared passengers.
This particular XR4i was twin turbocharged by TurboShed Developments and with that four wheel drive system I wouldn't want to be next to it at a traffic light. Especially in the wet.
If anyone showed me a car and said it was in mint condition I would always compare it to this Sierra XR4x4i.
The car looked like it had just been delivered from the factory without even been ran in. Since it's four wheel drive conversion in 1991 this XR has been pampered and kept in a truly mint condition showcased by the spotless running gear.
This is what an Escort would look like if money wasn't an object. Everything on this Mk5 XR3i was high quality and looked like it was custom built especially for the car. I was really impressed by the brakes because they show how much attention to detail has been put into this car. Also this is the first car I have seen that could pull of the single front windshield wiper mod.
I had a great time shooting the cars and because there were only three different models of cars present I got to see just how individual a car could be made.

All of the cars had great paintwork but this black Sierra was the shiniest of them all. Black cars are hardest to maintain in a tip top condition because unlike other colours black doesn't hide small imperfections. This Sierra was so well polished you could easily see the reflections of other car owners' faces as they turn green with envy.

Five months of winter. Five months of cold, ice, rain, wind, snow and no sun. This is what I'm enduring since I came here to the UK. But today, on Bulgaria's Independence day, I woke up to a blue sky, calm winds and the sun. It seemed to be a wonderful Sunday. Around noon I saw one of my Facebook friends upload a picture of a Jensen Interceptor in front of our own Transport Museum. The Jensen Interceptor is one of favorite cars. Can't exactly say why, but it looks so well balanced and full of 70s styling that is guaranteed to turn heads. Is it the long bonnet, hiding an enormous American V8, the sloping GT rear end or the beautiful leather and wood dashboard? I don't know. What I did know, though, was that I had to take a few pictures of it. Upon arriving at the Museum I was staggered to see not one but quite a few Jensens. It was an open day event, organised by the Jensen Owners Club UK. Not all of the Jensens were Interceptors There were some earlier models like the 541 or the Jensen Healey. Anyway, here are the pictures that I took:

As the same time as the AutoBild show was held in IEC there was another exhibition: Tuning.bg`s Tuning Show 2012.
I arrived quite late and there were a **** load of people. Getting my shots people-free wasn`t easy. I had to wait for the Drift Show for the crowd to move from the halls and leave me to take pictures in peace.
There were a lot of cars. Not a lot for a USA meet for example, but for Bulgaria they were a lot. Also this year the show was far more civilized unlike last year when the show was held in a field under the scorching Sun.
The cars were divided into 2 big halls and the space in front of them. In one of them were the car audio competitors featuring a mad VW Polo that had no back seats...just speakers.
In the other hall were the visual tuning cars. The styles ranged from clean, stanced rides to all-out Fast and Furious masterpieces. There were a few really interesting cars for me like the VW Golf II Rallye - one of only 5000 ever made.
Don`t drive it , slide it!
I another hall was situated a selection of full-on, no nonsense race cars.
All in all I am very pleased by the turnout and the organizing skills of tuning.bg an is by far the most modern and competitive car show in Bulgaria to date.

Outside the power freaks were situated. For them nothing is more important than bhp figures and they talk only in dyno graphs. For them teh people from HEED 91 had organized a modern "How big is yours?" device - a Dyno meter. The highest power at the wheels was achieved by an Audi 80 developing around 630 bhp.
That lock...
Who needs headlights anyways...
Maybe the most famous car in Bulgaria`s Drag scene
All business!
